Hey! My name is Joe. I’m a New Orleans native currently working on a Masters of Divinity at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and I work with youth at a church in St. Bernard. Above all else, I’m a Christ follower who loves to write. Lord willing, this is where I’ll put some thoughts, poems, short stories, and other writings related to my walk with the Lord. I pray they can encourage you along the way. May God be glorified through it all.

  1. Hi Joe, received your kind note reflecting on our conversation last week. I should be the one thanking you for such an interesting visit over the phone. My wife, Dorothy, usually plays hymns on the piano this time of evening and so I am upstairs wondering how to respond to a fellow sojourner on the “way” as hymns of the faith, randomly selected, drift up the staircase and down the hall. “Trust and Obey” is the current selection. How Providential. We are all teleological beings, made in the image of Him who is the source of all design, purpose and ultimate meaning. Is it faithless to question what our pathway and purpose should be? Hardly, I would think, if indeed we are made in His image. Yet the Psalmist says that the “Word is a lamp to our feet” not a searchlight upon our future. Pagan poets might urge: “Carpe diem.” We go beyond and not only seize, or pluck, the day, but return it to our Creator one breath, one creative thought, one loving kindness at a time to Him. By the grace of Him who has sealed us unto His eternal purposes, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Proverbs 3:5-6. Thanks, once again for calling. I look forward to the encouragement and insight your work will be to my life. I also look forward to giving systematically to the Providence Fund and remembering you personally and NOBTS in prayer day by day. Your friend, Bill Jackson

  2. Thank you so much! I greatly value your prayers, and I will be praying for you and Mrs. Dorothy as well. Keep seeking first his Kingdom and righteousness, trusting that he who began a good work will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

  3. Do remember us in prayer! We haven’t finished the race yet, and want to finish strong for His glory. We would like to hear from you by e-mail or snail mail to hear how things are going with you. I have a facebook page (William J Jackson) because one of my 15 grandkids insisted on it, but do not use it for communication except through short snippets. Currently has a pic of us with grandson/wife and great grandson. Bill Jackson
